BF3-Settings

Here is a list of interesting BF3-settings which i will add on as i get a hold of healthy tips for online settings, even if you dont know that much about gaming.

First of all!

One of the first BF3-settings i think of when it comes to optimizing your Battlefield 3 pc game is the graphics settings.
First of all is your capacity of your machine. Your PC’s specifikations, you maybe just dont know much about them, is what actually mather the most (except the pingtime, of course). Because they decide how manyFPS(Frames Per Second) you will have.
What you want to have is a stable value of 60fps or more.

How to display your fps:

First of all you have to get your fps displayed ingame. Start your game, connect to a server with the amount of players that uyou prefer, once you are ingame, hit console button (default button is “§”, the one to the left of key 1), type: “render.drawfps 1″ and hit enter.

Then you will have your FPS displayed up in the right corner.

Tweak your settings after that in the settings menu, lower settings for higher fps, higher fps with lower settings. You have to play a few seconds to see the diffrent fps. So change your settings, game a few seconds, then set higher or lower until your stable above 60 fps. Thats pretty much what the eye can handle anyways..

Second

Whats crucial when it comes to online gaming, is the ping response. The ping is displayed in milliseconds and we want that value to be as low as possible. From 0 to 60 is the value you should aim for if you want a good online experience. The easiest way to achieve that is to go to filter settings in the multiplayer menu and select countries close by, maybe just your continent would do fine. In the column on the right of the multiplayer menu, you will see the ping displayed in a two or three digit number. Somewhere under 60 should do just fine.

So this is the two 60′s: More than 60 fps and less than 60milliseconds in ping. Easy, isnt it?

Sensitivity

The mouse sensitivty is really an individual setting, some gamers like to have a slow sensitivity, other like it faster. In BF3, of course, the sensitivity is crucial on the battlefield. I still have som advices though. What you should think of when adjusting the sensitivity is how fast you can react with your mouse without loosing accuracy. Faster sensitivity gives you ability to aim faster, but you must still have the accuracy, so be careful not to set the mouse faster than you can handle. Another key thinking when it comes to sensitivity is that you should be able to turn around 180 degrees with one sweep with the mouse. In case you notice something behind you.
